The observation, situation awareness and overall standard of driving of the bus driver is superb. No sudden deceleration despite blind corners and single track (thanks to good driving habits, observation and awareness), this is really someone taking pride in what they do.
This is so soothing and relaxing to watch. Kudos to the driver, all other road users and overall Japanese transport and traffic system. I took a ride on a bus in Japan once and what an incredible experience it was.
What I love about japanese cities is that there are practically no cars parked on the street, occasionally a taxi picking up a passenger or a delivery truck. Besides every lane is perfectly marked all the way. I drive buses in Buenos Aires and, compared to Japan, it's like driving in a Mad Max movie... terrible environment to drive anything, no one has a scratch of patience. Japan has it's flaws, but I really appreciate how well organized the roads are.
Come to Paris,it's the jungle.... Buses have to squeeze between deliveries, parking lots on the road, bikes and other electric scooters that think they are all allowed. It's a miracle there aren't more accidents. And I'm not talking about certain lines which pass through very small streets (and the buses are bigger than the one in the video)....Some are even benderbuses (articulated buses like the Kesei Bus)...The most known are the "Louvre ticket offices", where the buses pass through the Louvre building via arcades where the space is just enough for the mirrors (we are on the order of - 10 cm)

私も１年半ほど前に、全線乗車しました。
道路改良が進んで、２車線になっている区間でも、そこから元の狭い旧道に入り、
集落にあるバス停へ向かい、また２車線道路に合流、という繰り返しで進んで行きます。
（旧道が行き止まりで、Ｕターン専用のスペースもありました）
不思議に思って、休憩地で運転手さんに聞くと、「バス停はなかなか動かせない」と。
なるほど、と思って、運転手さんの技量に高さに、より尊敬の気持ちが強くなりました。
奈良交通でも選ばれた運転手しかできない路線みたいですね。普通バスでこの狭い道路。。これを片道6時間毎日運転してると思うと尊敬します。

電車よりかなり安いね（和歌山市経由で）
5000円札はツッコめませんが、ICカードが使えるのでそこまで心配「入」らないかと思います。
ただ、（ワイド）３・３・SUNフリー切符があった時代はここも乗り放題対象だったことを考えると、なくなったのが残念ですね。
JRでいうと、大阪～岐阜の距離ぐらいか！高速道路やバイパスを通っているわけではなく、谷沿いの集落を通るように注意しながら長時間運転するのは流石！

こういった路線バスが赤字などによって消えないことを望む。
このバスは沿線自治体からの支援も受けて運行されているので余程のことがない限り廃止されることはないと思います
完全に赤字路線ですが補助金が出てるので何とか運行出来てるのです
奈良交通は何度も廃止を周辺自治体に打診してますのでいづれなくなる可能性は高いです
沿線市町村の支援で、20年ぐらい不変だったバスも新車へ置き換えた路線ですからね。
ただ、これとは別に五條病院向けに広域通院ラインというものが別にあって、それだと途中の十津川までなのでそれと同じように短縮の可能性はあります。

長いバス路線の動画にて6時間弱あり八割方は険しい山中ですが、路線の最標高660mは 1:55:00 頃と、思うより早くに道中の最高点を通過し驚いた記憶があります。この先のが山深く分け入る印象なのに、川下側なのかと。
川沿い谷沿いの山道をアップダウンしつつ下り進み、紀伊半島を縦断し、幾つもの山村を経て新宮市の河口・太平洋に至る旅で、地形の不思議を想う旅でした。

10月までは音威子府から稚内に天北線側回りで運行してたバスが乗ったままで171kmだったらしい。系統分離されてたので最長扱いされてなかったようだけど。
熊本にも長距離路線バスが有りまして、熊本桜町バスターミナルから天草本渡まで乗り換え無しで行けます。
運賃は片道2600円くらいとかなり高いですが…

実はこの次に一つ、新宮駅から大和八木駅へ向かう２便目＆平日の３便目だけが止まるバス停が脇道にある
西吉野農業高校バス停といって、山麓にある学生寮や五条駅へ向かう路線に混じってバスが立ち寄る
ただし麓へ向かう路線はあっても農業高校へ向かう路線はほとんどなく、平日朝に１便だけ運行される系統が止まるだけである
その便に乗れたら楽だが、遅刻した学生は２時間以上バスを待ったあげく、神野バス停から更に30分近く登り坂を進むことになる
授業の開始時刻に遅れた罰としては十分だろうな
路線が片道で2時間半、往復5時間ですね。 路線距離がかなり長い方ですね。 幸い、車のギア変速がオートミッションですね。 以前は手動ミッションだった時はかなり疲れていたと思うんだけど..
運転士目線から言うと、バスのATは扱いづらく、MTの方が疲れない人も多いですよ
特に長距離ともなれば慣れ親しんだMTの方が良い場合もあります！
